Aliens are visiting Kyoto and taking whatever they like...
Just as foreign nationals come to Kyoto and take the cultural ideas and skills as they like (just as I'm doing). On official documents foreign nationals in Japan are called "Aliens", so it's kind of a joke! Making a large scale print is a technical challenge from carving throught to printing, so this presented many difficulties. I hope you like it! Kyoto Tower is a landmark of the Kyoto urban landscape and photographed hundreds of times daily, but not many people see the aliens like I do...
Update: The residency card has now changed, so it doesn't use the word "Alien" anymore...

宇宙人が京都に訪問し何でも彼らが盗って行きたい物を持っていく.....
私のように、外国人が京都に来て、文化や、技術を彼らの得たい様に盗って行く様に。
外国人は、日本で公式に「宇宙人」と呼ばれています。なので、この作品は、それをもじりました。大きいサイズの木版画を手がけるには、彫から摺るまでの工程で技術的な挑戦、苦戦がありました。
京都タワーは、京都市街に建ち京都の象徴です。そして、毎日、何百回と写真を撮られます。でも、私のように、「宇宙人」を見る人は、余りいないでしょう.....。
