Water is crashing down onto the rocks and forming a pool, the autumn leaves frame the waterfall. I designed this larger, vertical format work to display in a Japanese house tokonoma - the feature area in a traditional main room of the home. Set back in a kind of alcove, it is a quiet space for treasures or pieces of significant meaning and changes with the seasons.
This is a relatively large work, 93cm x 50cm, featuring mokume (wood grain) in the side panels. On Echuu 100% kozo paper. 2019
